Hello marching band students and parents,

Congratulations again on a wonderful marching band season and final performance at the State Championships.  You should all be proud of your hard work this season; it was appreciated by both judges and audiences.

1. Football This Friday 10/25  Turns out marching band isn't *quite* over yet.  We have a home playoff game this Friday against Madison La Follette.  Wear the student section theme (I'm told it's "Costumes") and we will play from the stands, with a halftime show from the drum line.  Please be in attendance and make sure that your costume allows you to play your instrument.

2. Football next Friday 11/1  There is the possibility of a home game again next Friday, but it is unlikely based on the WIAA bracket.  It would require not only us to beat La Follette, but for #8 Madison West to upset #1 Madison Memorial this Friday.

3. End of Season Ceremony and Dance You should have received an Evite to BOCO.  There is no need to RSVP, and all the details are also in this email:

Welcome to the final week of marching band!  Here are some reminders as we wrap up the season.

1. Schedule for the week Monday 10/14 -- ASR Rehearsal Tuesday 10/15 -- Field trip rehearsal 12:00-3:44 (miss Advisory, 3rd, 4th) Thursday 10/17 -- Rain date only for field trip rehearsal Friday 10/18 -- ASR Rehearsal Friday 10/18 -- Home Football Game (abbreviated show)

Saturday 10/19 -- WSMA Marching Band State Championships

2. Weather This week looks to be chilly with the potential for a little bit of rain.  Please dress for the weather every day - we will still rehearse outside even in cold weather.  The forecast currently looks OK for tomorrow, but if it changes to rain, we may push our field trip back to Thursday.  (Section leaders will communicate this before school starts.)

I am cautiously optimistic about the weather for the state competition.  The forecast is unseasonably warm (~65 degrees) with a small chance of rain.  In the case of light rain on Saturday, we will provide ponchos for warm ups and will not cancel until the last possible minute.

3. Schedule for Saturday A reminder of the schedule for Saturday.  Concessions will be available all day, and you may also want to bring snacks for the bus.  If you want to change fully out of uniform after our performance, you may bring a change of clothes in your bag.  (We will talk later about how to take care of uniforms after you take them off.)

Hello band parents,

Please a letter from our principal, Ms. Peg Shoemaker.  It addresses several incidents over the past few months in our band and orchestra community and in our school community at large.
